Responsibilities
- Resource utilisation & capacity planning.
- End-to-end project management including full ownership of Sprint management.
- Facilitate daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Product Backlog refinement, Sprint Reviews, release planning, and other team activities as required.
- Actively remove impediments that slow any aspect of the development team’s efforts.
- Ensure visibility and resolution of technical and business challenges.
- Promote and support the development team’s automated processes.
- Assist the team in implementing process improvements identified in Sprint Retrospectives.
- Fully responsible for all tasks covering the product development lifecycle.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams using Agile project management.
- Provide coaching to the team & organization to ensure adherence to established Agile processes and practices.
- Facilitate all communication & collaboration to ensure successful outcomes.
- Keep the development team in alignment with the Scrum framework, values, and principles, and ensure the team is focused on continuous improvement.
- Enforce daily builds to detect early issues in the compiled and aggregated code, as well as in the functionality delivered.
- Encourage team self-organisation and empowerment, and motivate all players.
- Share new industry Agile best practices.
- Support Product Managers in writing effective Product Backlog Items & maintaining prioritised backlogs for multiple products as the development team provides estimates for upcoming items.
- Assist the Product Manager in the Story refinement process.
- Assist QA Managers in implementing automation.
- Assist the Release Manager in planning & preparing Release Candidates.
- Develop and maintain relevant metrics that guide the development team to more efficient processes in their work and in satisfying their Product Managers and other stakeholders.
- Identify and manage dependencies with other internal or external teams.
- Ensure proper project and portfolio reporting, including active risk management.
- Ensure up to date project information is captured in the relevant tools.
Skills & Qualifications
- You’re passionate about digital products and, in particular, facilitating teams to build them.
- You’re a people person and love working with smart, cross-functional, multi-disciplined technical and business teams.
- You’re smart & entrepreneurial but measured – you love a challenge & to innovate but you also have an organised and structured approach to tasks.
- You’re an excellent communicator – written & verbal – with awesome influencing skills.
- You’re likeable and you thrive in a fast-paced & (sometimes) chaotic startup environment.
- 10+ years as a Scrum Master/Project lead working with dedicated Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, IT or similar discipline
- Professional Certification in Scrum methodologies
- Highly experienced using Jira, Notion/Confluence, Slack, etc.
- Experience in SDLC/STLC across Agile product development
- Software/Product release management experience
- Knowledge of projects/releases in start-up environment
