AI Project Manager
Nomia helps companies reduce cost, manage risk, and increase efficiency for non-strategic third-party spend. We act as an extension of our customer’s procurement team by executing the end-to-end sourcing, supplier onboarding and contracting process for indirect categories of spend.
We are focused on delivering an innovative and disruptive procurement solution to our customers to make managing non-strategic spend simpler, more transparent, and better value.
We are a global team based in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Dubai, Poland, India, and the United States.
The Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented AI Project Manager to join our Platform team and help drive delivery across our AI workstream.
You’ll work closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, software developers, and Product Owners to keep complex AI initiatives moving - ensuring dependencies are managed, blockers are removed, and delivery stays on track.
This role combines delivery rigour with flexibility, as AI projects often involve experimentation and iteration. You’ll play a key role in helping us build AI products that deliver real value to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day delivery process for AI projects, ensuring smooth execution of sprints and alignment across data science, engineering, and product teams
- Ensure AI tasks (e.g. model training, data preparation, API development) are well-defined, estimated appropriately, and prioritised for delivery
- Help manage the balance between experimentation and delivery by tracking progress and highlighting when scope or timelines need to be reviewed
- Coordinate dependencies between data science, backend, frontend, and infrastructure teams
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint demo’s, backlog grooming, and retrospectives for the AI workstream
- Work with the AI Product Owner to monitor progress against sprint goals and raise risks early
- Keep stakeholders informed with clear and concise updates on delivery status, risks, and decisions
- Contribute to evolving our delivery practices for AI projects as our capability matures
Skills/Qualifications
- Experience as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, or similar role working in or alongside AI, machine learning, or data science teams
- A good understanding of Agile delivery practices and how they can be applied flexibly in experimental or research-heavy contexts
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing complex, multi-team dependencies
- Ability to spot potential delivery risks and work proactively to address them
- Experience managing delivery of AI or machine learning products in production
- Familiarity with data pipelines, ML model lifecycle, or AI infrastructure concepts
- Knowledge of common development & AI tooling (e.g. Jira, MLOps platforms, model registries, annotation tools)
